We teach from scratch. If your child has already ridden a balance bike, it will be a little easier for them to learn to ride a two-wheeler. If they have used training wheels, it will take a little longer. In most cases, children spend half of their first lesson getting used to the new mechanics of the bike.
For lessons with children, we use Montessori games and a playful teaching method that prevents children from becoming overwhelmed with new skills and distracts them from what they need to learn, namely how to get around in this world. This also allows up to 90% of the lesson time to be used for learning to ride a bike in a format that is interesting for children. Sometimes there are situations where children are tired from other classes or simply don't feel like doing anything today. Finding the right approach for each child is an enormous challenge and a great success! Some love dinosaurs, some love ninja kung fu, some love ninja turtles, and some love to do math or discuss geography and travel. The trainer discovers the child's personality and interests and tries to design the lessons based on these interests and motivate them to participate. Sometimes it just helps the child to distract themselves from everything and just start riding!
